The following is a list of key vocabulary that you will need to know to understand the lesson. Click on the word to hear the pronunciation.

- ► robar = to steal (regular -ar verb)

EL UNIVERSAL Ladrón roba $5000 del Banco Nacional
Un ladrón robó más de $5000 del Banco Nacional de la Calle Primera ayer a las dos de la tarde. Entró al banco por la puerta principal y caminó hacia el cajero. Pasó una nota al cajero exigiendo todo el dinero de la caja. El cajero metió el dinero en una bolsa y devolvió la bolsa al ladrón. El ladrón tomó la bolsa y corrió fuera del banco. El cajero llamó a la policía y llegaron en aproximadamente tres minutos. Los policías encontraron al ladrón a cinco cuadras del banco con la bolsa del dinero en la mano. Tiró la bolsa y trató de correr, pero los policías lograron detener al ladrón. Devolvieron el dinero al banco y llevaron al ladrón a la cárcel. El portavoz del departamento de policía identificó al ladrón como Mark Harris, un hombre de 24 años. El portavoz explicó que Harris robó el dinero para pagar la renta de su apartamento. Dice que no tiene dinero porque no puede encontrar trabajo. Ahora Harris está en la cárcel hasta la lectura de los cargos en el tribunal la próxima semana. |
