El Regateo

El regateo, negociaciones del precio entre el comprador y el vendedor, es común en muchas partes de América Latina. En América Latina, las tiendas modernas tienen precios fijos, pero las tiendas pequeñas donde van los turistas y el mercadillo generalmente tienen precios negociables. En estos lugares, si preguntas cuánto cuesta un artículo, el vendedor empieza con un precio alto. El vendedor sabe que va a recibir menos al final de las negociaciones. El cliente debe empezar con una oferta de pagar un precio muy bajo. Al final de las negociaciones, el precio va a estar en medio de los dos precios iniciales. Si compras en una zona donde hay muchas tiendas, puedes negociar más porque hay competencia.

Para negociar un mejor precio puedes . . .

Decir que es caro.
Comparar el precio del artículo de otras tiendas.
Pedir un descuento si vas a comprar más de un artículo o pagar en efectivo.
Decir que solo tienes una cierta cantidad de dinero en la cartera para negociar ese precio.
Salir de la tienda. Probablemente van a ofrecer mejor precio mientras caminas hacia la puerta.
Ir a otra tienda para buscar un mejor precio.
