Translation:
primero = first

Note: "Primer" is an adjective and is used before masculine singular nouns ("el primer estudiante" = the first student). "Primeros" is the plural masculine form ("los primeros pasos" = the first steps) "Primero" is the noun ("Él es el primero." = He is the first.). "Primera" is the feminine form and can serve both as adjective and noun. ("la primera clase" = the first class & "Ella es la primera." = She is the first.)
